It’s Application Season: Is Your Artist Statement Ready?

Then you need a fresh and catchy artist statement! Whether you’re looking to craft your first artist statement or update an existing one, this workshop is an excellent opportunity to strengthen and clarify how you speak about your work. This workshop is designed for visual artists, and we will focus on the 150-word statement required for the Clark County Open Studios application, but we’ll also discuss how to tailor your statement for different uses and different audiences.

The workshop will consist of guided brainstorming and collaborative writing time to help you articulate the key elements of a compelling statement, and strengthen and clarify how you speak about your work. There will also be time for discussion, feedback and editing. The goal is that you will leave with a concise, authentic statement that is uniquely you.

Coffee, tea, water and light snacks will be provided. Please bring any special snacks you need (you will have access to fridge, stove and microwave if needed).

Accessibility Note: This workshop takes place in an historic farmhouse that is not currently wheelchair accessible. We will work to accommodate access however we can, but please email arts@pnfarm.com to confirm that the space will work for you before you commit to the workshop!
