Contained by Abby Braithwaite is a short literary chapbook about the people, places and things that hold us, and that we hold. A hybrid of essays, poetry and vignettes, Contained loosely traces the author’s life from early childhood through early middle age. Illustrated with simple line drawings by the author, the chapbook explores the themes of solitude and family, and the awkward places those two ideas can meet. The slim 4x11inch book takes its proportions from the shape of the shipping container studio where much of it was composed.
