Canopy Time walks are mostly monthly walks/rolls/rides on Plas Newydd Farm. Hosted by Abby Braithwaite and David Morgan (and some surprise guests), these adventures give us the chance to explore some of the most beautiful places on the farm, and provide a deeper opportunity to feel the rhythms of the land, observe the comings and goings of migratory birds, watch the bud and bloom of native and invasive plants, swat mosquitoes, and dodge raindrops!
Part nature journaling, part phenological record-keeping, these explorations are a great way to spend more time out on the land than some of our workshops allow.
Bring your journal, your sketchbook, your camera and your senses.
$10 per person. If cost is a barrier, get in touch at arts@pnfarm.com and you will be welcome!

Forage for fungi and make mushroom spore prints in this two-part workshop.
During the first session on October 21st, Ridgfield artist Barbara Wright will share mushroom knowledge and lead participants on a foraging expedition to gather mushrooms from the farm. By the end of the first day, participants will have staged their gathered mushrooms to collect spores over the course of the week. Barbara will share the basics of spore printing, and help participants set up to collect the spores (it takes a few days for the magic to appear!)
Participants will store their works in progress on the farm, and when we gather again on October 28th, Barbara will share techniques to make one-of-a kind art from mushroom spore prints.
In this one-day generative and experiential poetry workshop, participants will delve into the Poetics of Change. The group will have the opportunity to visit three locations on Plas Newydd Farm […]
